چکیده

Breast cancer is the second most deadly diagnosed lifestyle disease among women. Surgery and chemotherapy are current treatments of choice; nevertheless, toxicity connected with this underscores urgency demand for human-friendly drug. 50% synthetic drugs available commercially today either direct or indirect descendants extracted from herbs. Anthocyanins possess many pharmacological activities, including anticancer potential. However, no study on activity anthocyanins Cordyline australis has been reported. were fresh leaves using ethanol as solvent. The total anthocyanin was quantified fractionated by Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography. Cytotoxicitic effect carried diverse cell lines like MCF 7, HCT-116, Caco-2 SW480 MTT (3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide assay. Based data, 7 cells further analyzed LDH assay, Glutathione-S- transferase (GST), Quercetin reductase, Cytochrome P450 Caspase 3, 8 9 activities. obtained results ANOVA a level significance. Results assay revealed that extract significant toxic (p < 0.05) specificity against (65 ± 2.1 at 50 µg/ml) when compared to other onco cells. Remarkable leakage (50.2% vs µg/ml), GST (3.0±0.002 U/mg protein), QR (4.4±0.054 Cyt activities (0.291±0.01 protein) noticed. 3 (157%), (142%) (147%) displayed profound These in vitro findings specific effects noticed C. require evaluation animal models. Finally, open up possibility developing lead antimetastatic candidate breast cancer.

Antimetastatic Effects of Phyllanthus on Human Lung (A549) and Breast (MCF-7) Cancer Cell Lines

BACKGROUND Current chemotherapeutic drugs kill cancer cells mainly by inducing apoptosis. However, they become ineffective once cancer cell has the ability to metastasize, hence the poor prognosis and high mortality rate. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the antimetastatic potential of Phyllanthus (P. niruri, P. urinaria, P. watsonii, and P. amarus) on lung and breast carcin...

Apoptotic potential of two Caryophyllaceae species in MCF-7 and MDA-MB-468 cell lines

Background and objectives: Plants have been used to treat diseases like cancer for many years and today the trend towards their use is increasing. One of the most effective mechanisms of plants against cancer is inducing apoptosis. Apoptosis is a programmed cell death which acts opposite to cell division. It starts in response to some stimuli. Despite the effectiveness of apopt...

Objective: Perovskia abrotanoides Karel, belongs to the family Lamiaceae and grows wild alongside the mountainous roads inarid and cold climate of Northern Iran. The anti-tumor activity of P. abrotanoides root extract has been shown previously. This study was designed to examine in vitro anti-proliferative and pro-apoptotic effects of flower extract of P. abrotanoides on MCF-7 and Hela cell lin...

Cell Kinetic Study of Tamoxifen Treated MCF-7 and MDA-MB 468 Breast Cancer Cell Lines

Apoptosis could be a major mechanism of antitumor effect of tamoxifen. Therefore this study is designed to characterize the kinetic behavior of tamoxifen-induced apoptosis in the estrogen receptor positive (ER+) and negative (ER-) cell lines, MCF-7 and MDA-MB-468. Frequency of cell death was examined by trypan blue and acridine orange staining. Annexin V-Fluorescein/PI was used in flow cytometr...
